Aphotic II Swim Goggle - Metallic Lilac - Photochromatic

The “Aphotic II” continues the search for “goggle perfection” with a few small changes to our bestselling goggle over the last 10 years, the Aphotic. The second generation sees the addition of a strap ratchet, offering greater ease of adjustability. The silicone strap also features ridges to improve fit and security.

Possibly the most important piece of equipment come race day are your swim goggles. A piece of equipment so many of us take for granted, yet without them, all of our preparation and training is wasted. It's time to take your goggles seriously, and really understand what is needed on race day.

Wouldn’t it be great if most events started in the middle of the day, the sun high, everyone warm and the light as good as it can be? Sadly the length of events and road closure timings mean a 7am start isn’t out of the ordinary, and as we all know the light 30 minutes after the gun goes off is very different, and even more so as the morning progresses.

“Aphotic” from HUUB, our first swim goggle that gets darker or lighter through Photochromatic technology during the race without you even noticing. A self-regulating lens that delivers the comfort and vision needed to maximise your sighting and assist your swim.

“Photochromatic” Clarity of vision aids sighting and allows you to move around obstacles and other swimmers even when you swim into the sun, or with your back to the sun.

These incredible lenses adjust perfectly and take only 160 seconds to go from clear to dark delivering ultimate performance for every turn of every buoy.

Special patented photochromatic dyes cause the lens to activate, or darken, when exposed to ultraviolet rays from sunlight. When the UV light diminishes, the lenses fade back. As light conditions change, the level of tint adjusts, offering the right tint at the right time.

Designed to fit the face perfectly with a density of silicone and TPR are matched to create a perfect fit and a feather like feel even on the most interesting of facial profiles. For a great swim you need a comfortable fit and the ability to see as much as possible while having as much light as possible blocked out when the sun is high, or water reflection is optimal.
